One of VotRite’s core missions is to provide a more inclusive and forward thinking environment for people with disabilities. We put this goal at the forefront of our technology. Our systems will enable people to affectively cast their vote while not feeling like their voice will not be heard properly due to improper voting practices.

Hardware Description

The HeadMouse Extreme is an infrared optical sensor that tracks side-to-side and up-and-down head movements. It then filters and transforms these movements to control the position of the mouse pointer on the computer screen. HeadMouse Extreme operates with very low input power (1 watt) that is usually supplied directly from the computer or hub through a standard USB cable. HeadMouse Extreme uses infrared light to track a tiny reflective dot that is placed on the user’s forehead or glasses.

When used with mouse button software, such as Origin Instruments’ Dragger, mouse clicks are performed by positioning the mouse pointer and dwelling for a selectable period of time. Alternately, mouse clicks can be performed with an adaptive switch, such as the Origin Instruments Sip/Puff Switch. One or two adaptive switches can be connected directly to HeadMouse Extreme through a 3.5 mm stereo jack located next to the USB connector.

HeadMouse® Extreme HeadMouse Extreme is the leading solution for wireless headtracking on computers, tablets and alternative communication devices (AAC). HeadMouse takes the place of a mouse by translating the movements of a user’s head into proportional movements of the device’s on-screen mouse pointer. It works and connects just like a mouse. No special software required. HeadMouse Extreme is perfect solution for people who cannot use or have limited use of their hands.

Swifty is an adaptive switch interface in an extremely compact package. It accepts industry standard 3.5 mm stereo or mono plugs and directly interfaces up to two adaptive switches to a computer. Swifty is powered from the USB host and does not require external power. Swifty uses standard USB Human Interface Device (HID) drivers and works with Windows, Macintosh and Linux computers, and many AAC devices

Inline Filter

The inline filter protects the Sip/Puff Switch from moisture. Moisture in the Sip/Puff Switch can damage the internal components

The disposable mouthpiece is connected by plastic, latex-free tubing to the Sip/Puff Switch that converts sips and puffs into electrical signals. The Sip/Puff Switch connects to the computer or interface device through one stereo or two mono cables.
